The Fear of Failure.

I'm afraid but that doesn't stop me.

We perform a project known as "TheDOJO Food Drive".  Donations to our local food pantry are extremely low over the summer months so we conduct TheDOJO Food Drive to make a difference.  This goes on to feed local families in our community in need of such help.

I never know if I am going to fail or not but that doesn't stop me, I do it anyway.

We've raised over 20,000 cans of food over the past 9 years; which is impressive.  Last year we inspired donations of 4,260 cans of food, school supplies and personal hygiene products, our most ever raised in a single food drive.  TheDOJO Food Drive assists the Rutherford Food Pantry by supporting about 75 families, a total of about 300 people.

Overcoming 1 fear (the fear of failure) has generated 20,000 acts of kindness significantly making a difference in the lives of many.

Had I allowed the fear of failure to stop me and done nothing for 9 years then zero cans of food would have been raised, pantry shelves would be empty and families with children would be without the help they so desperately need.  Allowing one fear to stop me could also snowball into the habit of allowing many other fears to stop me.  Not a habit I am willing to form.

By overcoming our fears and taking risks (intelligently), even though we know it's possible to fail, something great happens...we evolve.  That is how you unleash your human potential.

Summer is upon us and once again we are conducting TheDOJO Food Drive.  I'm afraid of failing but that won't stop me because it's really not about me, it's about what I can do for the greater good.
