Our Potential.

Compassion
"a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering."

A feeling. Meaning that in order to feel we must pay attention, notice, and become aware of what is going on inside ourselves, our hearts and our minds. This means quieting our minds.  What helps is eliminating distractions, our ability to concentrate on self-awareness.
When we notice others "stricken" by misfortune and have a strong desire to alleviate the suffering, we expand our awareness beyond ourselves and out to others. Embracing and connecting ourselves to them rather than disconnecting ourselves. Like an eco system in nature we notice the relevance of complimentary relationships.

Through harmonizing those relationships we create an environment of balance and peace.

We could choose to feel compassion for other people, our environment, and even ourselves. I find a beauty in this word, it’s definition and most of all...it’s potential.
